Technician Work Gallery

A gallery of all the photos I took or had taken of me performing technical deployments and the duties they entailed. This is where I learned RF characterizations, large system assembly procedures for construction and testing, as well as how to drive a forklift. Most importantly however it taught me the importance of designing repairability into the devices I make. Someone needs to put their hands in the boxes you have to design after all.

Most notable achievements working as a Electromechanical Technician 3:

  • Learning full tuning of an S-band weather radar called S-POL

  • Deploying and tuning said Radar to Colorado and Taiwan, then back again to Colorado.

  • Designing circuits to facilitate functional support systems within all radar systems I worked on.

  • Worked on the high frequency HAIPER cloud radar system and resolved a severe issue in dropouts of the data created by lack of buffering between signals and the carrying aircraft.

  • Sand blasted an entire radar pedestal

  • Learned to calibrate and collimate laser systems for MPD systems measuring particulate quantities in air via lidar.
